Data Session (20.11.2014)

This week’s data session will be organised by Nilüfer Can Daşkın who will present data from her corpus of interactions in English as a Foreign Language classrooms in higher education. The session will take place in the meeting room of the department of foreign language education (Faculty of Education, Hacettepe University) on Thursday at 3:00 pm.

Bu haftaki veri oturumu Nilüfer Can Daşkın tarafından düzenlenecektir. Üzerinde çalışılacak veri yüksek öğretimde yabancı dil olarak İngilizce veri tabanından gelmektedir. Oturum Perşembe günü saat 15:00’da Eğitim fakültesi yabancı diller eğitimi bölümü toplantı odasında yapılacaktır.

Orçin Karadağ’s data session

The data session yesterday was very inspiring. HUMAN researchers brought important insights into language education in pre-school settings. We are looking forward to reading Orçin Karadağ’s forthcoming papers based on this data, and we hope that his research will shape future policies for teaching foreign languages to young learners.

Data session (14.11.2014, Friday, 3:30pm)

Hi all,

We are happy to announce that we will welcome our first guest researcher for HUMAN (Hacettepe University Micro Analysis Network) data sessions. The session will be held on the 14^th of November, Friday, at 3:30 p.m. Orçin Karadağ (Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University) will present an extract based on micro-teaching sessions in kindergarten classes in Muğla. The venue of the session will be announced soon.

Our first data session for this semester: 16.10.2015, Thursday, 15:00

Hi all, After a very long break, we are happy to announce that we will hold our first data session next Thursday at 3:00 p.m in the Meeting Room at the third floor (Department of Foreign Language Education) of Faculty of Education, Block-B. Ufuk Balaman will present his data based on a corpus of online task-oriented L2 interactions. We look forward to seeing you all next week.

MA Course: IDO622 Conversation Analysis and Foreign Language Education

This semester, Hacettepe University, Department of Foreign Language Education is offering a post-graduate course (IDO622) on Conversation Analysis and Foreign Language Education. The course aims to introduce basic principles of Conversation Analysis methodology as an approach to social interaction and build links to foreign language teaching and learning. Using cutting-edge research from the field of CA-for-SLA, the sessions will include discussions on examples from real language classrooms based on audio-visual data.The classes will be held on Tuesdays (12:00-14:45) starting from the 23rd of September.

Data Session- 17.07.2014
