In the first session, Nergiz Kardaş (Hacettepe University, Elementary Education, PhD Candidate) will present an extract from her corpus of Classroom Interactions in a Social Studies Class in a Primary School Setting in Turkey. The session will take place in the meeting room of HUMAN Research Centre on the 27th of April, Thursday at 14:00 p.m. The second session will start at 15:30 and Betül Şen Gümüş (Hacettepe University, Science Education, PhD Candidate) will present an extract from group interactions in science classrooms.

Bir sonraki veri oturumlarımızın ilkinde, Nergiz Kardaş, “Türkiye’de sosyal bilgiler derslerindeki sınıf içi etkileşim” veritabanından bir kesit sunacaktır. Oturum 27 Nisan Perşembe günü HUMAN Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi toplantı salonunda saat 14:00’da gerçekleşecektir. İkinci oturumda ise, Betül Şen Gümüş, “fen sınıflarında grup etkileşimi” veri tabanından bir kesit sunacak ve oturum 15:30’da başlayacaktır.

This week we will have two data sessions in a row again! In our first session, Merve Bozbıyık (Ufuk University, Research Assistant; Gazi University, MA Student) will present an extract from VEO (Video Enhanced Observation) oriented interactions. The session will take place in the meeting room of HUMAN Research Centre on the 13th of April, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Following Merve’s session, Elif Ulutaş Deniz (Hacettepe University, Research Assistant/PhD student) will present an extract from her corpus of pharmacy staff-patient interactions. Elif’s session will start at 3:30.

Bu hafta da iki veri oturumuyla devam ediyoruz. İlk oturumda Ufuk Universitesi araştırma görevlisi ve Gazi Üniversitesi yüksek lisans öğrencilerinden Merve Bozbıyık, VEO (Video Enhanced Observation) yönelimli etkileşimler üzerine bir kesit sunacak. Oturumumuz 13 Nisan Perşembe günü HUMAN Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi toplantı odasında saat 14:00’da gerçekleşecektir. Merve Bozbıyık’ın oturumunu takiben Hacettepe Üniversitesi Eczacılık İşletmeciliği A.D. araştırma görevlilerinden Elif Ulutaş Deniz, eczane çalışan-hasta etkileşimi veri tabanından bir kesit sunacaktır. Elif Ulutaş Deniz’in oturumu saat 15:30’da başlayacaktır.

The session will take place in the meeting room of HUMAN Research Centre on the 6th of April, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Following Fatma’s session, Elif Demirel and Işıl Günseli Kaçar will present an extract from their corpus of ELT practicum classroom interaction. The second session will start at 3:30.

Bu hafta bir kez daha iki veri oturumu üst üste olacaktır. İlk oturumda Fatma Badem, yabancı dil olarak İngilizce sınıf içi etkileşimi üzerine bir kesit sunacaktır. Oturumumuz 6 Nisan Perşembe günü HUMAN Araştırma Merkezi toplantı odasında saat 14:00’da gerçekleşecektir. İlk oturumu takiben Elif Demirel ve Işıl Günseli Kaçar, İngilizce öğretmen adaylarının sınıf içi etkileşimi veri tabanlarından bir kesit sunacaktır. Bu oturum ise saat 15:30’da başlayacaktır.

We are proudly celebrating the second anniversary of the foundation of our research centre with a one-day seminar event, which will be held on the 10th of March, 2017. 13.02.2017

Müge Satar (Boğaziçi University) and Ciara Wigham (Université Blaise Pascal) will give the fourth seminar of #HUMANtalks series. Their talk will be on “INSTRUCTION-GIVING SEQUENCES IN TASK-BASED ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICES OF FRENCH TEACHER TRAINEES” and it will take place on the 7th of October, at 15:00 in the Faculty of Education Block-B Meeting Hall. Müge Satar will give a presentation on their research with Ciara Wigham’s participation via teleconferencing.

In our next data session, Merve Hırçın Çoban (MA student, Hacettepe University) will present an extract from her corpus of paired interactions in EFL Oral Proficiency Assessment in a higher education setting. The session will take place in the meeting room of HUMAN Research Centre on 5 May, Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Oturumumuz 5 Mayıs Perşembe günü HUMAN Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi toplantı odasında saat 15:00’da gerçekleşecektir.

The last reading group meeting of the semester will be held next Tuesday at 15:30 (26th of April) in the meeting room of HUMAN Research Centre. We will read and discuss Mondada’s seminal work on multimodality this week.
